Ramsay Phillips - Profile |
|
His musical influences include: Counting Crows, Matchbox 20, The Fray, Tracy Chapman, City and Colour, Powderfinger and many more. He even loves Frank Sinatra. Ramsay Phillips is from South Africa and has been in Dubai for six years and one of the best things that he loves about being in Dubai is all the new friends he’s met since being here. He also loves doing carpentry, and if he were given a chance to work with his hands, he’d love to build guitars for a living. Ramsay is a regular at Peanut Butter Jam and the Lime Jam open mics in Central Perk, Bert's Cafe, Cafe Ceramique, and recently at The Loft.Like every other musician, Ramsay loves to collect musical instruments, and his favourites include; a Taylor 110 acoustic with an LR Baggs pickup in it, an Epiphone Sheraton electric, two Fender Strats, a Fender hotrod Deville 60 watt valve amp, a Fender frontman 25 watt practice amp, various pedals, a Korg electric piano, and a little classical guitar. And he still wants more! However, the most important things in his life are; God, his wife, his family, friends and music. He also loves to sit somewhere with a notebook, a pen and just connect his thoughts with the page; watching people and looking for arbitrary things that are a good source for lyrics. Generally anything passionate inspires him the most. Some lessons that he could share to everyone reading his profile; "Be honest, have integrity in what you say and do. If you're a guy, then be a gentleman, if you're a girl, be a lady. There are very few sincere people around these days, and it's refreshing to meet these people. Be refreshing! Also: Carpe Diem! Seize the day". For future bookings please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it |
