String Vitae - Profile

String Vitae is Zara and Vasco:

The band started originally in Portugal, along with bassist Nuno and drummer Miguel, but as Zara and Vasco moved to Dubai, they've carried on with the legacy on this side of the world.

They met while playing in a covers band called Play Loud Insane, back in Portugal, and decided to move on to original compositions.

They play rock tunes, although Zara and Vasco have different music tastes.

Zara likes punk-rock and emo bands such as Dashboard Confessional, Easyway or The Ataris.

Vasco goes for the 80's music with guitar solos, progressive rock and instrumental music. Some of his influences are Marillion, Joe Satriani or Steve Vai.

When playing together, Vasco composes the songs and Zara writes the lyrics.

Apart from String Vitae, both had different bands back in Portugal. Vasco played guitar with the Portuguese prog band Miosótis (http://www.miosotismusic.com/) and also has his solo project as a guitarist, called ptRocker.
