Music Gear Review - Naked Eye Microphone |
|
The ‘Naked Eye’ on the other hand has been crafted so that side “A” is dark and warm, and side “B” is bright and sunny. This means that side “A” is perfect for recording acoustic and side “B” really finishes an electric recoding. Having the two side also allows you to quickly rerecord tracks with a completely different sound just by twisting the microphone. This allows you to make some very interesting sounds during your recordings. The only downside I can find with this microphone is that it clips very easily, but this is the same with any ribbon microphone as they are much more sensitive than your usual dynamic microphone. The “Naked Eye” is a unique and impressive microphone. Even though it does everything that it promises I am still not sure if I like this microphone or not. I cannot find anything specifically wrong with it, but it almost sounds too real for my liking, but at the end of the day that’s only personal choice".
