I purchased this set a little over a year ago. it was my first drum set. What you want to do to make it sound good, because since everything is stock it does not sound very good, you want to put some remos heads on it. the cymbals are actually a lot better than i thought they would be but i still went ahead and bought zildjian zxt's. the stands suck. i have to put a weight on the boom stand even for a 16 in crash. all of my stands including the hi-hat screws in the inside have stripped. i got a new pearl pedal because the stock one is very slow and has no kick to it. and to make it sound professional i got $7.00 studio rings to go on it and now it sounds nice with an additional pearl snare that i bought. other than that the set is ok. just expect to buy new hardware for it. but for the price its a heck of a deal Posted by famousdrummer2121 from kansas city on Sep 8, 2007

I bought this set a year ago it was my first set. The heads suck the cymbals suck the shells are pretty good the pedal sucks. If you dont wanna buy new heads then you can buy some kinda muffling... anyway its a pretty good set if you fix it up but i do not recommend this to experienced drummers! This is a great value for drummers that are looking for a set to start out on. I bought this set over two year ago, and it's held up pretty good since. Most of you will accuse me of being a musician who plays extremely expensive equipment, but I have played everything from garbage cans to a DW. Let us rank this on the side of sub-garbage can. Don't let the price tag fool you, your money could easily be spent on a chalk board in which you could drag your nails across, effectively producing the same sound as this drum kit. If you are looking at this product save your money for a Tama kit. Seriously, the money you will have to spend to make this kit sound decent will surpass that of Neil Peart's drum set. On a lighter note, I was able to support my tv with the bass drum. All in all your dad's super savers jar of joint compound makes for a better drum than this entire kit. I bought the pulse pro about a year ago and im am very satisfied. Buy new heads and cymbals right away! A good base head makes all the difference in the world. And the snare is crap.
