Rode K2 - Music Gear Review

Another week of Alistair Vowle's expert advice, recommendations, criticism of music gears. This week Alistar turn his knowledge and wits on Rode K2.

" For all you studio lovers out there who feel like expanding there range of microphones, then this is the one for you. This high quality valve microphone is a thing of beauty. With is gold plated diaphragm and its high grade, heat resistant shock absorbers, this microphone give a very unique, warm sound. It provides a perfect mix between the crisp sound demanded by today’s market, and the lovely warm sound of an analogue recording. The K2 is run off an external power supply, where you can constantly change the polar polar pattern from omni through cardiod to figure of eight.

On a whole, this is a most extraordinary studio microphone and is personally one of my favourites, but, be careful not to drop it, as a new tube will cost you another pay-cheque".
