Buying an Acoustic Guitar |
|
Ok, you been to Dubai Lime's open mic and you saw our original musicians playing with their flashy acoustic guitar. Then you are thinking of buying one yourself to add to your music gear collection or to your music kit. But buying a new acoustic guitar can be a lot trickier than it seems, especially if you have never been through the process before. Most people that have never bought an acoustic guitar before simply go on the web and do a search for acoustic guitars and find all kinds of good stuff, well at least in their eyes its all good stuff! The problem is you can really get a piece of equipment off the internet that is nothing but scrap wood and you wouldn't know the difference until you got it in your hands and started trying to learn to play. Eventually you would figure out that the sound quality of the acoustic guitar is garbage and the neck is starting to bend and warp and finally you realize that you wasted your money. For starters any acoustic guitar that is not made out of dried wood is on the "do not buy list", remember that! What normally gets the attention of prospective acoustic guitar buyers is the shape and body of the guitar. You need to make sure that you ask or find out somehow if the body is made from dried wood. Just because it is all nice and shiny and looks good on the outside does not mean it is a good purchase. If you want to know a trick, a lot of the price of the guitar comes from the body, the higher the price of the acoustic guitar the better wood the body is made out of. You get what you pay for it's that simple. Make sure you take the time to research a good bridge and this should also be made from only dried wood. There are a lot of cheap acoustic guitars out there that you can get and they will sound cheap because their bridge are exactly that, cheap. So remember cheap bridge, cheap sound. If you take your time, do the research, and shop around a bit you will find a great acoustic guitar at a great price that will keep you entertained for years to come. If you don't have the money to spend on a really good acoustic buy a medium price range guitar instead but don't buy a cheap one, you will thank me for that information. |
